Description of the invention

The present invention refers to a tool for its use in tracing and measuring operations during craft or professional works of carpentry, masonry, pattern design or DIY in general.

It consists of a rule of medium dimensions, of the order of half a meter, which includes a scale in millimeters, inches or any other measure of length, equipped with two special handling devices, one of which is fixed and the other is sliding as length of a longitudinal groove made in the ruler. 

The fixed device has a punch mounted on a telescopic manual mechanism with an axis perpendicular to the plane of the ruler.

The sliding device is similar to the previous one with the particularity that it contains a pencil, a mechanical pencil or a tracer element instead of a punch being able to move along the ruler.

Both the punch and the pencil are mounted on retractable pieces so that their tips do not protrude from the bottom surface of the ruler under conditions of rest. For protruding, it is necessary to exert some pressure towards the working plane, existing internal springs that return the punch and pencil to their original resting position when the pressure stops. The pencil is related to another spring so as not to press the mine excessively, thus preventing its possible breakage.

Object of the invention

The object of the present invention relates to a tool for use in tracing and measuring operations during domestic or professional works of carpentry, masonry, pattern design or DIY in general.

It is a special rule, easy to use, whose main advantage is to gather in a single tool elements of fixation, layout, measurement and leveling so it is very practical to perform the tasks listed above.
